On Dec. 29, at shortly after 4 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police were called to a serious personal injury collision in the Town of Caledon.
A preliminary investigation reveals that a pickup truck, westbound on Old School Road, failed to obey a stop sign at Chinguacousy Road and collided with a Honda sedan.
The pickup truck driver, a 34-year-old Brampton man, along with his five and six-year-old daughters were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the sedan and a front-seat passenger were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The rear-seat passengers weren’t so lucky. A 55-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were transported to an area hospital, where one remains in critical condition.
The highway was closed for more than seven hours while police completed their investigation.
