Dufferin Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West beginning September 10 for road resurfacing. Work will include road repaving as well as replacement and repair of sections of damaged curb and sidewalk.
Road users should expect delays and increased traffic in the area and are encouraged to use alternate routes such as Bloor Street West, Brock Avenue and Dovercourt Road.
These Dufferin Street improvements will be delivered in two phases. The first phase will take place from September 10 to October 31 from Bloor Street West to College Street. The second phase will take place November 1 to November 30 from College Street to Dundas Street West. Signs will be posted to direct and support the safe travel of all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
Most of the work will take place Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but some work after hours and on weekends may be required.
This work is part of the council-approved 2018 Capital Works Program to renew aging roads and sidewalks for current and future needs.
