Toronto Police have arrested one man, and are still searching for another in connection to a brazen armed attack at a gaming establishment in the east end of the city nearly six months ago.
Investigators were made aware of the incident last month when the victim finally came forward and reported that two men with handguns entered the facility in the Finch Avenue and Kennedy Road area on the morning of April 23rd and began beating him with the guns and a hammer. The suspects were able to flee the scene.
But the man who was attacked says since the incident, he has been receiving threats and is afraid for his safety and that of his family. His account of the attack resulted in the search of three locations and led to the arrest of one of the men and the seizure of six guns with ammunition, about 130 pounds of drugs and more than 22-thousand dollars in cash.
A 43-year-old Richmond Hill man has been charged on several counts, including aggravated assault and uttering threats. He has since appeared at the Old City Hall court to face those charges. Police are still on the lookout for 36-year-old Hai Lin who lives in Scarborough. He is considered dangerous so the public is being warned to call 911 if he spotted.
