Music Without Borders is a student-run campaign to fundraise for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
Founded in 2014, this campaign reaches out to the community to seek out talented musicians to perform and raise money to support MSF.
This year’s event is taking place on March 30 from 7 to 9 pm at the Bayview Glen School and will include young talented musicians sharing the love of arts. You can come enjoy great entertainment and inspiring people while helping to create positive change.
The Nobel Prize winning organization, Doctors with Borders, was created to save lives and provide relief where it is most needed. They have helped millions of people with medics and aid experts across about 65 countries, and are driven by three core commitments; independence, neutrality, and impartiality. This means providing free medical care without partiality to whoever needs it wherever, and whenever. The organization does not take sides in conflict and treats everyone equally, from soldiers to civilians. Lastly, they are independently financed meaning they depend on donations from people like us.
So far, $1625 has been raised for the event with a set goal of $5000 and all proceeds go to Doctors without Borders. Tickets are on sale for $15 (student), and $25 (adult). You can submit works of writing, art, film and compositions on the themes of humanitarianism, the power of the arts, one world, service, and youth action to take part on this event.
