A 37-year-old B.C. man has been arrested after taking off all his clothes and diving into the shark tank at Ripley’s Aquarium in downtown Toronto last week, leaving patrons and staff at the tourist attraction stunned.
Investigators say the man who had been at an event at the aquarium on the evening of October 12th spent several minutes swimming in the tank before exiting and fleeing the scene.
Toronto police asked the public for help to identify the man after releasing a photo captured from video surveillance, and on Tuesday the OPP arrested him after a vehicle stop in Thunder Bay.
The suspect is also allegedly wanted for assaulting a man and leaving him with serious injuries outside Medieval Times on the Exhibition Grounds a couple hours before the aquarium incident.
David Weaver is facing two charges; assault causing bodily harm and mischief interfere with property.
