Toronto has built a reputation as one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world, not just boasting an array of gourmet delights, but also a bustling craft beer scene. Both of these elements – noshes and brews – intertwine with an outing run by The Local Vibe Tour.
The Local Vibe Tours offers an exciting walking/beer/foodie excursion, that weaves through East Danforth, Gerrard India Bazaar (aka Little India) and Leslieville. These unique neighbourhoods all have their very own character, and compelling histories.
The tour makes stops at a few popular breweries and bars, as well as stops at a handful of local restaurants. It’s a chance to sample local fare, support local businesses and enjoy the company of other folks who seek to explore this city’s food and drink scene.
Having launched Aug. 28 and running until Apr. 21, 2019, the tours will take place Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 5 pm to 8:30, and Saturday noon to 3:30pm. Thursday, Friday and Saturday tours will start at Donlands subway station. Sundays will start at Greenwood station.
The tour requires about two and a half miles (or 4km) of walking.
Though itineraries vary according to which day, all tours will include tastings of four beers and three food samples.
Danny MacRiner launched The Local Vibe Tours in 2017, when he sought to mix his lust for travel with his love for his home city. Having traversed five continents, he brings his passion for exploration, and quest for knowledge of different cultures, with each tour.
