Toronto Raptors Danny Green and creative agency Rozaay Management are teaming to raise awareness of Toronto Animal Services’ Second Chance Dog program. The program provides training to dogs in need of extra support to be ready for adoption. The event is part of Danny Green and Rozaay Management’s “Return the Love” campaign aimed at nurturing healthy pets.
“My dog Gizmo is such an important part of my life that I can’t imagine other pets not having the same opportunity. My goal is to encourage people to share the love, open their hearts, and to help these dogs find their forever home,” said Green.
Some dogs require specialized care and training to find a good match, so the program invests publicly donated funds in training for dogs that need more guidance and life skills. These dogs may not have learned socially acceptable behaviours. Every one of these dogs is different. They may have problems with reacting in an appropriate way to other dogs or people, food or toy resource guarding, or lack of confidence in new situations. They may be used to getting what they want by demanding it, and may need extra help to learn how to get what they need by offering behaviours that are more appropriate. The program aims to match these dogs with prospective adopters who are experienced owners, and can carry on their training journey.
