City of Toronto celebrates 185 years

The City of Toronto is celebrating its 185th anniversary from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on March 9 and 10 at Nathan Phillips Square, Queen Street West and Bay Street.

On March 9, shop local vendors, feast upon the diverse cuisines from Toronto-based food trucks, enjoy live music from Toronto band, Gold Complex, and tunes spun by DJ Caff. Take a snap with official mascot, Remi the Raccoon, for a chance to win a Via Rail trip for two from Toronto to Montreal.

On March 10, Toronto’s St. Patricks Day Parade will be ending at Nathan Phillips Square, so join both parties at the Square. Duet Dance Company takes the stage at noon and the Queen’s Own Rifles band takes the stage at 3 p.m. Food trucks and shopping vendors will be open until 9 p.m. and skates can be rented on site.

Celebrate Toronto will be accepting non-perishable food donations. Visit the Welcome Tent where you can donate food items, and/or purchase a Celebrate Toronto official toque to help support the Daily Bread Food Bank.
