On September 13, the Bay Street Kicks soccer tournament brings Toronto’s downtown professionals together to support a common goal – to raise funds to send kids with cancer to camp.
Camp Quality Canada is the charity hosting Bay Street Kicks. Camp Quality Canada is a national charitable organization that provides free overnight camp to kids with cancer. Through a 500-strong volunteer network along with a dedicated team, CQC provides fun, safe and positive experiences with 1-1 ratios and medical care teams on-site allowing kids aged 7-18 to participate in activities like archery, fishing, arts and crafts and canoeing.
Bay Street Kicks has run for the past 12 years and hosted corporate teams from various sectors including Mackenzie Investments, RBC, CIBC, BMO and CI Financial. These companies have raised close to $580,000 for Camp Quality, in support of camps and year-round programming. In 2018 alone, the funds raised through Bay Street Kicks allowed 51 children whose lives have been affected by cancer to go to overnight summer camp. This year, Dilawri Group of Companies will donate a three-month lease on a 2019 Infiniti Q60 Coupé as a prize for the Top Fundraiser at Bay Street Kicks which will be presented at the post-game party.
“Dilawri Group of Companies has a long tradition of giving back to the communities we proudly serve. Camp Quality is doing fantastic work for children who have been dealt a tough hand. We’re proud to support the Bay Street Kicks soccer tournament – in the form of a short-term lease of a 2019 Infiniti Q60 Coupé for the Top Fundraiser. This event deserves great support and we’re honoured that we can join together with other Toronto professionals to help raise valuable funds needed to send kids with cancer to camp,” said Robin McCallum, VIP sales manager of Dilawri.
This year, former Toronto FC Captain and TSN Analyst, Steven Caldwell, will be co-hosting the event as an official Camp Quality Ambassador.
“We need as much support as possible to make this an amazing event – it’s a great opportunity to get outside, enjoy some beer, food and camaraderie with your fellow Bay Streeters. I’m honoured to be hosting Bay Street Kicks and look forward to seeing everybody out at Cherry Beach,” said Steven Caldwell, former Toronto FC Captain and TSN Analyst.
